ANIMATE STOP PAUSE RESUME

The image depicts the measured (red arrows) and model-simulated (black arrows) surface winds. The direction the arrow points represents the direction wind is blowing. The length of the arrow represents the wind speed (in knots), which is also shown in color. The measurement locations are indicated by white dots.

Move the mouse over focused areas (e.g., Monterey Bay) and click to zoom into that area to see higher resolution data. After zooming in, click on an observing station, or anywhere within the model domain for a 96-hour time-series image of wind speed and direction.

Some observations can take a few hours to get into the system, so check images from previous hours (towards the end of the list at the right) for more complete data coverage.
