Ocean Model Output Animations
- Three Ocean Model Animation Low Res(73MB) | High Res(250MB)
 |
This is an animation featuring three Ocean Models at increasingly finer spatial resolutions. The first one is a global model at 20-km with fully coupled ocean and ice processes generated by Dimitris. The second one is a Pacific
model at 12-km using the Regional Ocean Modeling SYstem (ROMS) generated by Yi
Chao and the third one is a Southern California coastal ocean ROMS at 2.2-km
resolutions. The color represents the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) that is
shaded reliefed using the Sea Surface Height (SSH). The thickness of the ice
is represented by the brightness of the white color. The thicker the ice is,
the brighter the color is. The animation shows the 11 year's simulation output
from 1993 to 2003. |
